Building on their experience gained from previous Olympics, Gerflor technical teams were able to cope successfully with Chinese cultural characteristics by adapting to conditions that might seem a bit special, as evidenced by the event held in Capital Stadium, site of volleyball, a few days before the opening of the games ...
The parquet floor on which the surface Taraflex ® M Sport Plus had been installed, slightly moved due to a stop of the air conditioning system. The organizing committee followed the recommendations of the Gerflor team, taking a drastic measure : one hundred Chinese soldiers were requisitioned and positioned around the volleyball court of 756m ².

They then raised the court that had been welded and fixed with a double-sided tape and kept it up so that workers could intervene on the resumption of the parquet. The work done, all was rested and readjusted.

It is unprecedented in the history of the installation of the Gerflor Sports Floorings!
Co-operation between French teams and Gerflor China has been the key to the success of this operation, for evidence, Gerflor was sent two letters of congratulations from the organizing committee, whose level of requirement was considered by all actors as extremely high!
After the closing ceremony, Gerflor technical teams have begun to uninstall the vollly ball training courts. They are now stored in Beijing as all training courts used during the Games are to be sold in China at the end of the competition.

For Table Tennis, facilities remained in place and have been used since for the Paralympic Games.
