Good Sport Janet Nets $50,000 Prize for Local School

Queanbeyan West Public School has welcomed the chance to install Gerflor Sports Flooring following its win in the Gerflor Good Sports Award 2008. The award follows the school’s nomination of parent, coach and sports enthusiast, Janet Lamont for recognition in the award program built around the ideals of the Olympic Creed.

School Principal, Vicki Muscat, welcomed the award and said the prize of Gerflor Sports Flooring to the value of $50 000 would be valued by the school community.

“We are absolutely thrilled and I think that the Gerflor Sports Floor will make a huge contribution to our school,” Vicki said.

“As for Janet Lamont, there could not be a better person to recognise publicly for all that she does,” she added.

Gerflor’s Managing Director, Chris Low and the Australian Sports Commission’s Michelle Patt who was one of the judges, visited Queanbeyan West to present the award. Gerflor continues to work in partnership with the Australian Institute of Sport, one of the world’s leading institutes dedicated to the training and development of elite athletes for the Olympic and Commonwealth Games.
