South Australia Keeps it in the Family

Working in the flooring industry was never part of the plan for Gerflor’s newest recruit, Ashlee Anderson. Ashlee represents Gerflor as part of the Flooring Trade Depot agency in South Australia where she works with her father Greg (pictured above).

“I was studying a bachelor of Behavioural Science and Psychology for the past two years, working as a bartender on weeknights and weekends. I really struggled trying to balance working, studying and my social life. Dad knew how much I hated working at the pub, so he set up an interview and two weeks later I was working two days a week at FTD. I had absolutely no knowledge or experience in the flooring industry though, so I had a lot to learn,” Ashlee said.

“The support I receive from everyone at Gerflor has been amazing, everyone is happy to help and answer any question, no matter how ridiculous.”

Fast forward three months and Ashlee is plying the pavements rolling out the new Gerflor Texline range to Premium Partners around the state.

“Having just finished my country trips, I have now shown all our premium partners in SA the next Textline range. The new HQR range is one that I have had a lot of great feedback on, with something for everyone in there,” she said.

Ashlee shares more than a passion for flooring with her father. Football is veery much part of her life but for now she is relegated to the sidelines.

“Just after Easter I tore my ACL. MCL and Meniscus in my first game of footy this year, so unfortunately, I haven’t been able to do very much. They operated on both of my knees, due to having to take hamstring from the other one, but I can now finally straighten my leg and walk without a limp so that’s a start,” she said
